Old Changi Hospital Revisited Part 3
.i will jump forward to the beginning of Saturday night’s exploration trip. Since it was the usual chalet stuff that most people do…barbeque, chit chat, games, etc. Cut straight to the chase…the trip up the hill again.

Joined by 2 more couples, our group was bigger now…bout 15 people
We were at first rather superstitious bout odd number of people in a group to go up to OCH…i didn’t know the reason why, but i guess it must not be a nice one afterall. Anyway we still went ahead with plans, set off at around 2am plus.

Im now the official photographer trying to document this visit…as also the guy armed with the mofo torch light. (no light can’t take photos…i claim…hehe…really mah!! You see Fri’s video shots…all black!! Only hear voices! haaa)

Click to see a bigger version, and a speculation of wall faces.
This night we came with an agenda, that is to see if we are able to spot any entrances to the rumoured underground bunkers. So as the guys planned they zoomed straight to the lifts…almost the whole night we were scrutinizing lifts and other possible routes to the underground bunker…we even went up to the roof to take a look.

Yup we were guilty for molesting the lifts in OCH

Lifts at every floor were molested…haha

Of course we check first…shining torches at the gap to see whats on the inside before trying to pry open the doors…
[More lift molestation photos]
One thing this building (East wing) had was quite a number of lifts…probably it’s built later than the West wing….hence more modern? Higher? More floors? More lifts? Sounds logical to me…

The corridors were spooky as well…very long corridors, combined with darkness..they look never-ending…

On the top floor beside a lift there was a ladder which led up to the roof…

Everybody came up but were warned to stay away from the edge of the roof…one drop it’s certain death.
Ok what you are about to see next might clash with the idea that those orbs of white stuff u see in photos. It’s said that those orbs are just dust or water particles reflecting light from a camera’s flash. (yup i do believe in that theory, i don’t believe that orbs are actually the spooks) So here i am…up on the roof…complete darkness, no breeze, the moon was ‘lower half’ glowing..looked evil….and my bad assed mofo torchlight starting to fail. (probably it wasn’t unplugged from Zhongwei’s car when he’s not driving…got discharged…so low batt)

I was the first one on the roof, fired one shot on my cam…
noticed the white faint orb in the middle of the photo? Just above
the small vent.

From my cam’s preview it looked dark, i adjusted the shuttle speed to let the flash penetrate the darkness more…

I don’t know why…but i felt the urge to take one more shot…
this when i noticed the orb. (i didn’t notice it in the first two shots, until i blog my entries)

The orb got closer, but there wasn’t any breeze blowing…i wasn’t afraid coz the idea that they were just dust particles was in my mind back then.
If you thought that was bad…there’s so many orbs in the other photos as well. Now i don’t know whether to stick to my original theory of dust particles or they are really spooks. Im agnostic, although i believe in spooks (as i have seen/heard/felt them before), i didn’t believe in spooks blatantly appearing as orbs in photos.

Nobody was interested in going up to the ‘lift engine room’…

We were suspicious of almost every room that might hoard a way to the underground bunker…

Looked around…

Lower building/West wing ’s exterior

One of the guys said this was the ‘Torture room’ during World War 2 (OCH was occupied by the Japanese), but based on the SPI reports…i doubt so this is the correct room…

Another look

Another look but with more orbs this time…i was the last to leave the room…

Surveying the exterior of East wing…

We went around the West wing exterior as well…

This grass patch was the place where they used to have the small morgue.
(see my photos taken 2 years ago…they demolished the building.)
We were coming to the end our short excursion, as some in our group were feeling ‘BORED ALREADY‘ , but i know they are feeling edgy. As one of the girls was starting to sing (which is a wrong thing to do…attract unwanted attention…u don’t mess with things you don’t know). We decided to call it quits, some of them looking flustered, mood is spoilt, but i knew some of the guys are really game to continue exploring.

Name…

East wing exterior front, closer…

Another shot of East wing front…note the orbs

Shot of East wing back building

Another shot…

Last shot of the East wing back building…note the red orb…
it was red in the original photo…no editing. (except resizing photo)

One manhole i spied, behind the East wing back building on our way back to our vehicles. Seems there’s a way to go down, where…i don’t know…probably sewerage.

Obviously…
As we headed back to our vehicles, another group of explorers, probably some ah bengs, were making hell a lot of noise, screaming and shouting vulgarities, slamming their feet. Obvious sign they were nervous, thus making a scene to ‘hide their insecurities’. We felt they weren’t giving OCH the respect it deserves. In my heart, i was hoping they would have the audacity to kick the five packets of vermicelli noodles which was placed (probably placed by security guards doing the daytime duty) outside the backdoor of East wing, and get chased by spooks. Hahahaha (i had a video shot of the 4 packets of rice…im still wondering how to add video in my entry. :P )
-NOTE- Video needs Quicktime to play
End of exploration, seeing the 5 packets of noodles on the floor, probably offered by the security guards for the spooks
Next stop…we decided to pop by the infamous ‘Red House’ at Pasir Ris. A little further down the road from the Pasir Ris Ntuc chalet outside public carpark. As we had vehicles, the travelling was made easier. It was my first time visiting the ‘Red House’ , although all these years i have heard stories of ‘white house’ (pasir ris too?), ‘red house’ (the one im visiting), ‘yellow house’ (in punggol?)…lots of colours.
[My guessed location of Red House]
We stopped by the front gate…some of our group (the ones who were nervous earlier on at OCH) think we should call it a day and head back to the chalet, while as usual some of the guys are really game at the idea of climbing over the barb wired fence and explore the compound. Me? Im neutral…as im the photographer with the ‘bad assed mofo‘ torchlight…im game for anything…im just providing ‘media’ coverage…haha.

Approaching the ‘Red House’…

Spooky looking red front gate…

I forgot to take a closer look at the stone lions guarding the gate…damn
As my friends stood around discussing whether to enter the ‘Red House’ , i went on a shooting spree…

The white foreground is the bardwire…reflected the flash light, so it’s glaring white. (not a spook as some thought it is)

First shot…

Second shot…

Infront of the main house, seems to be two attap like houses

Another shot…

And another shot…
(why take so many? u never know what will turn up in the photos…haha)

Gate was loosely secured by a chain with a sawn through lock, so it’s just hooked on.
As the first two vehicles left, left Zhongwei’s car and it’s passengers waiting for me to finish up on my shots. I didn’t have the usual ’spooky tension’ feeling when spooks are around. (yup im able to detect them). I turned around to look at the surroundings, probably worth a shot or two…opposite were simply are tall dark trees, total darkness…that’s when i felt it…that tingly feeling, something was watching me from those trees… without much hesitation i pop back into the car quickly and drove back to the chalet…no shots of the trees…oh well.
This bring us to the end of the spook adventure…well not much of an adventure, neither was i hoping for a ‘Blair Witch experience’….too disasterous if something bad were to happen. Maybe next time. Hehehehhe

-UPDATE- 7/4/2005
Here’s a photo provided by a.s.a.h

Supposed capture on image of a nun or nurse. Ooooh. That area
is only beside the notorious dark staircase! [Click image to see bigger version]
And from her site…found out that her friend owns this car (OFF TOPIC!! HAHA)
Cool~! Initial D wannabe! Tao-hu chia AE86!

Actually i like to visit this kind of places but i get bothered by it later, would probably need a strong arm for me to clutch and dig my finger nails in to bolster courage.
You are so brave!!
one little twit - yah i do too…i get tensed and jumpy normally for one or two days after visiting such places. Probably because during the visit, my senses are adjusted to fine tune to be more receptive to anything seen/heard/felt.
I get jumpy of noises even at home when im blogging or alone in the office. But im back to normal after 3 days..normally. Hahaha
fat fingers - u should have seen us 8 big boys huddling together in the darkness! haha…it’s not the spooks we are afraid of…everybody’s afraid of the unknown. I do too.
If i see a spook i would probably go after it, like during my b.m.t days. haha
Some spooks are aware of people’s pressence, i can feel ‘that feeling’ when they want people to know ‘they‘ are around.
heng, i read this in the morning man. if i read this last night, most probably end up calling my friends at 3am and tell them i’m scared.
anyways, when i was reading this, i felt like i’m reliving my younger days man! i didn’t manage to document it by taking any photographs (6 years back liao so noone carries a digital camera around as its not popular yet) as i was busy feeling scared holding on to other people arms, hands, legs, body…
i went to the same changi hospital but we not as garang as you all sia so thorough, we walked only the 1st floor. then i also went to the red house. another one i went is the hillview house. its a rather huge house right on top of hillview - word is that it used to be occupied by a family then don’t know what happen…
linda - haha…yeah last time don’t have digital cam. Thats why i didnt go last time…there’s no way to take photos in the dark…too much hassle.
So what did u see at the Red House?
The Hillview mansion, i heard its been demolished. I have not visited…even the front gate. Pity…
I remember a ‘ghost tour’ I went on with SPI when they first started. We visited such ’scary’ places as Fort Canning, the park outside KK hospital, a couple of cemeteries in the Bukit Timah area and the old Racecourse Rd. The scariest thing about it were some of our guides’ English. hehe.
i definitely wouldn’t make myself go through all these… :p
anyway.. are you one of those guys I see at thomson cc playing basketball. haha..the other time i went to the gym there and proceeded to eating prata after that. haha
u go to that nearby prata shop??!!! Lovee going there. not for the prata.. for the ‘atmosphere” :) let’s go eat prata! been going there for years n years
wah.
can’t wait for part 4 ley.
really very scary.
This is so spooky. I have to scroll quickly past some of the pictures. I don’t think I would ever go visit. Anyway, I was inspired by your spookiness to dress up morbid.
jellygirl - normally big groups…the spooks don’t show face one. heehehe. :)
satin - yes…i do play there…but not often…probably on wednesdays…we normally eat at Longhouse. :)
ningx - i got to reck my brain abit…mostly very short accounts…scared only will bore people…coz no photos or what to back up my stories. haaa
anna - there’s nothing much to be afraid of…show respect, and they won’t hurt you anyway. As for dressing morbid…no comments. hehehehe
Ah!! The tau huay chia’s owner is in NTU!! I know him!!! Mwahahhaha… His car lousy lah.. ahahha… jump onto the car hor… The alarm also wun sound one.. ahahahahahaha~~~ *bo liao students*
when’s part 4? I’m expecting all the most interesting stuff will be there! :o)
joel - but it still looks nice. Im an Initial D fan. :)
woof! - eerrr…soon? i juz encountered some glitches recently. Workplace wants me to return the laptop…which will mean i can’t go online from home after midnite anymore.
Workplace ain’t really conducive for blogging…people think im doing nothing in my cubicle. (knn…)
And im having some family problems right now.
But surely…it will be out soon. I won’t promise an interesting entry though…becoz based mostly on short experience. (nothing much to write about short experiences! hehe)
Cheers
=D
I think you’ll only see ghosts when you least expect it. Nice pictures though.
zen|th - quite true…when u least expect it…it happens…got the shock factor…ahhaaha
damn…i havent got time to go online…no laptop..really handicapped…haha
went to red house b4 and lets juz say it wasnt wat i expected and things got pretty messed up…
gracey - really? that’s interesting…looked too spooky for me…the trees infront of the house across the roads that is…
