SCHUWATCH!!!!

Posted by lim peh wrote this under 1337 stuff, Life, Love, Travel, Ultraman

Hehe another entry on Ultraman, bumped into another blog with a long long entry dedicated to one of the Ultraman movies (with plenty of screencaps), presumably one of the better movies. (i have not watched it yet, probably will soon). Can’t wait to see those original human actors for the Ultramen, now senior folks.

4 senior Ultramen [via here]

This guy must be a really big Ultraman fan, just like someone i know, who seems to be collecting whole lot of vinyl monsters. Even toy collecters call him “Monster”. Bwaahahaha.

After watching a few ultraman clips on youtube, i must say, i really preferred the old school era, or what they call “Showa Era Ultramen”. I remember back then, there was like 12 ultraman, only one or two were the colorfully adorned ones. On tv, i guess i only got to watch the very first version which had those guys in the MAT team wearing orange uniforms and white helmets. Cool they are. And the subsequent malay-dubbed version, which i think is Ultraman Jack or The Return of Ultraman, which had the people crew decked in blue uniforms (if i can remember correctly. i havent exactly got my trivia right. haahaa)

Ultraman

It’s a pity i have never watched any episode of the other Ultramen. Maybe in future, i could buy those whole series to watch. Hehe

Back to present time, there’s so many different versions right now, all so colorful and decked with armor and wierd sculps. I swear i could have mistaken them for monsters in Kamen Riders. There’s probably more than 20 versions of Ultramen (including the Showa Era). Just watched the 2004 movie version, and i didn’t like it. The monster looked ok, but the computer generated parts were…erm….abit fake. And the Ultraman, called Ultraman Next, looks like he overhit the gym sessions, in my own opinion, looks ugly to me.

Ultraman Next

Even the later versions of Ultraman, Dyna, Tiga, and more (Heisei Era?). The human actors are now yandaos, like those you see in japanese or korean tv serials. All Aniki or Takeshiro wannabes. Give me the old time normal working class dudes anytime. Hahaha

And now recently, there’s this new tv series of i believe is 12 episodes called UltraSeven X, a darker version, probably not fit for kids at all….for us adults who followed Ultraman? Haha . I will probably watch this series soon as well. :D

And perhaps in future, i would love to go to Japan, visit the Bandai Museum and best of all, the Ultraman Land

ULTRAMAN LAND is an amusement park built by Tsuburaya Productions, located in the middle of Kyushu, one of Japan’s four major islands. If you are a die-hard fan, you can drop by this place during your Kyushu trip. However, it’s a very small place, which can be cover in about 3hours. - Ultramanlah! (click for more info)

The original Power Rangers? I remember they were real hot back then, but not in Singapore
Bandai Museum in Chiba, Japan

Oh yes, the opening theme for Ultraman and Return of Ultraman is now repeating in my head for the past 2 days, and yes they are saved in my handphone as tones. Bwahaahahahahahaha
